HELLO.
I am currently the lead dayside reporter and fill-in anchor at KGW, the NBC affiliate in Portland, OR.
I am a dedicated, driven, and fearless reporter with a track record for getting results.
The bulk of my reporting is focused on the homeless and addiction crises. My work has earned multiple Emmy nominations and the respect of my community. I’ve built relationships with sources at the city, county and state levels that have led to exclusive stories—some of which exposed major policy and spending issues inside local government.
My reporting is fueled by compassion and empathy. While on assignment, I recently helped a 26-year-old woman who was homeless and pregnant get into housing six months before her due date. I helped another woman move from a homeless camp into affordable housing after she was mistakenly bumped from a Section 8 waitlist.
I've covered at length landmark decisions such as the United States Supreme Court ruling on Johnson v. Grants Pass, allowing cities to criminalize homelessness, Oregon's Measure 110, the decriminalization of hard drugs, and the concurrent rise in fentanyl overdoses. My coverage of Measure 110 was featured on the New York Times podcast “The Daily.” I've also covered high-profile murder trials, violent protests and riots, and severe weather events from coastal Maine nor'easters to eastern Oregon wildfires.
I began my career as a reporter and anchor at WGME, the CBS affiliate in Portland, ME. There I won a New England regional Emmy award for reporting.
Originally from a small fishing town on the coast of Maine, I graduated with honors from New York University, where I dual majored in Acting and Journalism. While at NYU, I trained in the Meisner acting technique, played Hermione in Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale," and wrote an honors thesis that re-evaluated the work and radicalism of a forgotten twentieth-century American playwright. I also earned an NYU Tisch School of the Arts Honors Certificate in Theatre Studies.
When not at work, I'm often exploring the coastline of the Pacific Northwest.
